After Prom Parties
Proms - the pinnacle events of a high school student's social life. In the early days of high school proms, this nighttime dance served a function similar to a debutante ball. Proms were times of firsts: the first adult social event for teenagers; the first time taking the family car out after dark; the first real dress-up affair; and so forth. As time progressed the prom went from being held at the high school gym and was slowly traded for hotel ballrooms, country clubs, and event spaces.
